It’s time for the big guys to get into the game and implement Flattr into their sites. Who will be first to offer this to their users? Will it be Github, Disqus, DeviantArt, Google (youtube & blogger accounts especially), Flickr, Wordpress.com, Wordpress.org and so forth.
Tonight I started out with mailing to some of them, I started with writing a mail to Github since a friend of mine working on Etherpad Foundation, and I’ve been wanting to flattr his work there, I thought it was a good place to start.
Hello there. I’m a big flattr fan, not a big coder tho. But i have alot of friends who use Github for their codes.
On http://github.com/redhog/pad for example Redhog has added the url to flattring the work he’s done with the pad. https://flattr.com/thing/6213/Etherpad-RedHog-branch
http://blog.flattr.com/2010/07/looking-for-integration-partners/ Flattr’s REST-API is almost ready to go, and now they are looking for Partners.
I’ve previously pointed out to different services that they could implement Flattr, or should when avaliable for them to do so.I think this would be a great way for you guys to join into the new era of showing appriciation.
Kind Regards
Marie
Then I thought of DeviantArt and a few friends I have that uses it, so I filled out one of their support/contact forms and sent it in as well.
Hello there. I have alot of friends who use DeviantArt, but I myself do not. I would tho, love to be able to through them having their flattr account, and flattr buttons with their art.
Flattr is currently looking for integration partners. ANd I’m personally hoping that you guys will be one of the first to get there. http://blog.flattr.com/2010/07/looking-for-integration-partners/
Flattr is a nice way to show appriciation, and add a little money to it. I really hope you will concider it. Read more here http://flattr.com

I also decided to e-mail Alexandre Saboundjian at Jamendo as well.
I really love the concept of Jamendo, for sharing freely licensed music with the rest of the world in an easily order. One thing I really hope you guys should offer your users is the opportunity to add their Flattr button to their account and their music. Flattr is a social micro donation system, which lets you show flattery to other peoples content online with a flat-rate each month.
This would just make Jamendo just even more awesome, for all users. They are now looking for partners to integrate with their REST-API when it finishes, and I think this could be a great thing for you guys. I’m really looking forward to seeing you guys take the lead with some of the other great sites online with integrating Flattr early on.
Kind Regards
Marie
I also e-mailed Soundclound through their contact.
Flattr is looking for partners to integrate with. Flattr is a social micro donation system that allows it’s users to share content and flattr content. Basically if you find something you like that has a flattr button attached to it. I have a friend who uses both Flattr and Soundcloud, currently he has just implemented the url to his Soundcloud item, it would tho have been nicer looking and easy on the eye if one could have Flattr as an opt-in for users who want to add it to their song.
I’m hoping that Flattr will be a big thing and I have a vision about it, it was only written in Swedish tho, but can be read here.
I’m also hoping that you guys will be one of the first who implement this for their users.Kind Regards
Marie
Of course I want to see it on Wordpress.com.
Hello there! I’ve been a big Flattr-fan since it rolled out, and it’s fully avaliable through plugins when you have a self-hosted blog.
It would be awesome if Wordpress.com would be an early adopter and get it rolled out for their users on their blogs tho.
Currently they are looking for partners to be ready to roll out with them when they finish their REST-API http://blog.flattr.com/2010/07/looking-for-integration-partners/I’m really hoping to see you be early on with this, especially since I really like wordpress.com.
Kind Regards
Marie
And for Wordpress.org I contacted Matt, via Email.
I just sent off a support/contact mail to Wordpress.com where I’m asking them about the possibility to integrate Flattr to it now when their REST-API is getting ready. Now for Wordpress.org i’m more thinking about it for all the developers on site, and the people who does a good work on the support forum. Having a Flattr-button implemented in the forum, will offer people the incentive to offer even better support, and users will be able to show appreciation for the support given.
Also, for all the developers, be it themes, plugins or other, they will also get an opportunity to get some extra support for all their free time they put in to some of the work. Which also could result in premium stuff trying a new approach and being “free” and only trying out being flattrd. I believe this would be a great step in the right direction.Flattr.com is a site for social micro donations. You register, and are then able to flatter people, to a flat-rate, at your choosing, each month. You can also be flattrd yourself. I’m in love with the concept and believe it’s part of the future on the internet, and in the “offline world” as well. Hopefully we’ll see Wordpress being early on implementing this to the joy of their users, developers and all.
Kind Regards

I’ve mailed Disqus at a previous time as well. Right now is really a good time to show that big site you use that you would want to have flattr there!
I’m also hoping to inspire others to write a letter to their favorite artist, website or other whatever service online and say that they want to flattr them, or wish them for some reason to implement Flattr in their service.
I want to, together with the Flattr-community that we already have and the Pirate and Activist community that I am part of, lead the way by setting a good example and showing that this really works. We are all responsable to help Flattr reach Critical Mass!
Marie till Riksdagen

Great work, I hope you can get some results soon. Personally, if I was a major site, I would wait until flattr was out of beta, but sure, why not? Please report any progress.
“We are all responsable to help Flattr reach Critical Mass!”
When I find something that I would have flattered but could not because they lack the button, I tweet it with the tag #needsflattr now.
Did you see that Wikileaks is using Flattr now? This will put Flattr in front of many people (not such much Wikileaks themselves, but because of the news coverage), and maybe other sites will pick it up as a result.
Thanks alot!
I do what I can, and I think we all should. When you can you should also email the admin of the site you want to flattr and tell em about Flattr!
I can add that both Wordpress.com and Soundcloud has replied now!
Okay, I broke down, took your example, and mailed the Escape Pod guys, asking them to put up a Flattr button. Excellent short story podcasts, well written, well read.
